Sex Pistols Blast Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Surprise! The Sex Pistols won't be going to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 13.
The band has posted a letter to the Hall on the Sex Pistols' The Filth and the Fury website.
And it doesn't sound like they'll ever be invited back either.
"Next to the SEX PISTOLS rock and roll and that hall of fame is a piss stain. Your museum. Urine in wine. Were (sic) not coming. Were (sic) not your monkey and so what?"
The statement slammed Hall of Fame voters as "music industry people," and blasted the high price of attending the exclusive event -- $25,000 for a table, "or $15,000 to squeak up in the gallery."
As Neil Young sang: "The king is gone but he's not forgotten/This is the story of Johnny Rotten". And Neil would probably be proud of the Sex Pistols.
Afterall, Neil has bagged out of Rock Hall ceremonies before when back in 1997 he canceled his appearance to honor the Buffalo Springfield's induction.
